CGC Prep Class

Do you wish to obtain your dog's AKC Canine Good Citizen® (CGC) award?  This class will train through all steps of the CGC so that your dog can obtain the award at the end of class. Get CGC details here.

The test items can be found in detail here, but here is a brief list of the 10 test items:

• Accept a friendly stranger
• Sit politely for petting
• Appearance & grooming
• Out for a walk (walk on a loose lead)
• Walk through a crowd of people
• Sit, lie down & stay in place on command
• Come when called
• Reaction to another dog
• Reaction to distraction & sounds
• Timed separation (3 minutes)

 The class details are as follows.

• 4 week course
• 1 hour class, meets 1 x a week
• CGC test included, given by AKC CGC evaluator
• any dog over 5 months can join
• 8 dog maximum/5 dog minimum per class
